CPE Policies & FAQs

How do I register for a course or conference?

There are several convenient ways to register:

  • By web: Click here to find courses and register online with check or credit card payment.
  • By telephone: Call (800) 264-7966 everywhere in Missouri, or (314) 997-7966 in St. Louis.
  • By fax: Fax your registration with credit card payment to (314) 997-2592.
  • By mail: Send your registration to MOCPA Educational Foundation, 540 Maryville Centre Drive, Suite 200, St. Louis, MO 63141-9042.

Payment must accompany each registration to reserve your spot in the selected seminar or conference.

How will I be notified of my acceptance into a seminar or conference?

After your registration has been processed, you will receive a confirmation form containing the title, date, location and course times. Please check this information carefully. If you have not received your confirmation form 48 hours before the course, call the society verify your registration in the class.

What are the course times?

Classes typically run from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted. The registration desk opens at 8:00 a.m. However, times vary for some classes and for most conferences. Please refer to your confirmation form for the time schedule of your specific class.

May I register at the course site on the day of the class?

We do accept walk-in registrations if space and materials are available. However, in order for us to adequately plan for each event, we strongly recommend that you register in advance or call ahead to ensure space permits.

How early should I register for a class?

Please register as early as possible to be assured of space and course materials. Courses with too few registrations may be canceled. Individuals who register within a week of the presentation date may not have materials available at the course site.

What is MOCPA's cancellation and transfer policy?

You may cancel from a class or transfer your registration fee to another class with no penalty, if done so at least six working days before the original class date. Any additional fee is due at the time of the transfer. Cancellations or transfers made within the last five working days before the original class date will incur a $30 fee. One person may substitute for another up to the day of the class with no penalty. If you find that you are unable to attend a class for any reason, please notify MOCPA so that you will not be listed as a "no-show." No refunds or transfers will be allowed for "no-shows."

How can I be assured of receiving CPE credit for a seminar or conference?

Your attendance is monitored throughout the program to ensure compliance with Missouri State Board of Accountancy CPE regulations. You will be asked to initial the sign-in sheet upon your arrival and when returning from afternoon break. CPE hours will be adjusted to reflect actual time spent in class.

If you need a Certificate of Attendance, please take your confirmation form with you to the class and ask the course administrator to sign and date it verifying your attendance.  The course will be reflected on a member's online CPE transcript approximately one week after the class was taken.

If the weather is bad, how do I find out if a class is still being held?

Typically, MOCPA makes every effort to move forward with scheduled classes for a variety of reasons (i.e. participants and speakers traveled from out of town, and participants are trying to fulfill year-end CPE requirements). If the class is still held and you are unable to attend, we will issue you a refund or help you find other courses to fulfill your requirements.

Please be assured the Missouri Society of CPAs is always first and foremost concerned for its members' safety and would always encourage you to make the decision you feel most comfortable with when it comes to traveling in inclement weather or other unexpected events.

For the latest information regarding the status of any MOCPA CPE event, please call (800) 264-7966 and dial extension 122 (professional development department). A MOCPA staff member will assist you during regular business hours or a message will have been recorded with the latest information.
